CENTR participates in DNS Forum in Washington, DC

News 21-09-2016

On 14-15 September, CENTR participated in the DNS Forum in Washington, DC, organised in collaboration with the Public Interest Registry (PIR), LACTLD, the i2Coalition and ISOC-DC.

Privacy, content control, multistakeholder engagement and security – these are only a few issues of relevance to technical operators across continents. The DNS Forum brought together experts from ccTLD registries and other technical infrastructure, privacy lawyers, big multinationals, ICANN stakeholders, as well as EU and US government representatives. The debates highlighted common challenges that operators face given increasing regulatory pressures and also how they reacted to it by adapting their internal policies but also by coming up with new business models, products and services. More than 70 people participated on site and at times up to 30 online. 11 CENTR members made it across the Atlantic (and the border). CENTR is very grateful for their active participation in all of the panels, both as speakers and attendees. Webcast recordings will be available shortly.
