(.il) DNSSEC implementation in .il zone
At Key Ceremony which took place on 12th of July, Israel Internet Association (ISOC-IL) had the Israeli ccTLD .il officially signed using DNSSEC. Since July 20th, Delegation Signer (DS) record is published in the root zone.
The .IL namespace is divided into 8 Second Level Domains (SLDs) - ac.il, co.il, gov.il, idf.il, k12.il, muni.il, net.il and org.il where ISOC-IL is managing six of them, all but gov.il and idf.il. Registration directly under the .IL ccTLD is not currently allowed. Planned next steps are to sign the SLDs and later provide DNSSEC support in the .IL registry system allowing delegation and management of DNSSEC signed third level domains. The process is expected to be accomplished by the end of 2016.
