On 18 April, Peter Van Roste spoke about CENTR at a Working Group Meeting of the European Observatory on Infringements of Intellectual Property Rights, which was taking place in Brussels.
In addition to explaining what CENTR is, he shared about its ccTLD members, stressing on the diversity of the community in terms of size, business models and legal frameworks, among others. He also explained the diverse approaches of ccTLD managers in tackling illegal content online, focusing on the enforcement of the registries’ terms and conditions (including WHOIS accuracy), collaboration with law enforcement agencies, education and awareness activities, as well as transparency efforts.
